| Introduction The Society organises several events over the year ranging from the Open Obedience Show to the Puppies Christmas Party. Open Show The Society runs the Newbury and District Open Obedience Show annually. Click here for more information. Club Days The Society runs a Club Day competition in October. Club days are practice competitions run in the Kennel Club recognised format for members only. A club day is a relaxed event where members exchange ideas and get feedback from the judges. We invite experienced guest judges and stewards so this is a real opportunity to have a go and gain experience. Even if you don’t intend to compete further, club days are an enjoyable and rewarding challenge for you and your dog. In 2007, we will run just the one Club Day in October. Classes start at Pre-Beginner and the cost is just £1 per entry. Check out the NDDTS forthcoming events calendar for this year's club day dates and sign up on the notice board at training class. The Puppies’ Christmas Party On the last day of Autumn term, the dogs celebrate yuletide with canine capers and chewable prizes. All four legged members come together for some serious wagging, and, bar perhaps some mild humiliation, it’s at no cost to their owners. See the the NDDTS forthcoming events calendar for the date of this year’s party and check out Otto’s review of the event. Christmas Party Humans are allowed to celebrate too. All members are invited to the Christmas Party for a generous helping of fine food, wine and laughs. There is a charge for the meal, though the Society subsidises the event. Last year we had a great time at the Lord Lyon in Stockcross. Watch the NDDTS forthcoming events calendar for the date of this year’s party. Just remember not to leave your glass within armsreach of Roy if you want to wake up the next morning without a headache. |
